Student Spotlight

Research interest / current research work
I’m interested in using novel technologies to probe the neural circuits underlying psychiatric illnesses. Most recently, using in vivo calcium imaging and optogenetics to dissect the contributions of subpopulations of striatal neurons in generating compulsive behaviors and in a mouse model with relevance to OCD.

Research interest / current research work
Using bioinformatics and multiplexed imaging to develop novel methods for characterizing human disease and harnessing clinically actionable data.

Field of clinical interest
Interventional Radiology Oncology

Undergrad institution
University of Virginia (BS), Harvard University (MBI)

Research interest / current research work
I study descending mechanisms of pain signaling in the brainstem and spinal cord working to characterize pelvic afferents transmitting affective/pleasurable touch signals.

Field of clinical interest
Anesthesiology, pelvic pain, reproductive health

Undergrad institution
University of Pennsylvania (Chemistry)

Research interest / current research work
My research ultimately seeks to improve our understanding of neurodevelopmental and pediatric neurological disorders to improve diagnostic and treatment practices.

Field of clinical interest
Pediatric neurology

Undergrad institution:
Princeton University

Research interest / current research work
Broadly, my research focuses on endothelial cell dysfunction in pulmonary vascular disease as it relates to genetic, metabolic, and infectious origins.

Field of clinical interest
Currently, I’m most interested in pursuing a career as a cardiologist or a medical geneticist.
